Terms of use & disclaimer.

What this site is
Hometown Hero News is an independent, community-run publication covering youth and school sports across New Jersey. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by any school, school district, league, club, town or governing body — even when a team shares a name with one.
Team-submitted stories — please read
Most stories here are written from game reports sent in by coaches, parents and other adult team representatives. We publish submissions in good faith and do not independently verify every score, statistic, name spelling or detail before a story appears. Errors can happen. If something in a story is wrong, use the report link on the story page or contact us — we will fix it, or take the story down while we check.
What submitters are responsible for
Only send us scores, stories, photos and videos that you have the right to share. By submitting, you confirm that you have permission to share the names and images of every player shown or mentioned, and that your report is accurate to the best of your knowledge. Submitters must be adults acting for their team.
Acceptable use
Keep it about the kids and the games. We may edit, hold, decline or remove any submission or story at our discretion, including anything inappropriate, unverifiable, or not authorized for sharing.
Stories, photos and copyright
Stories and media stay in our archives indefinitely unless an editor removes them. Photos and videos belong to the people who took or submitted them. If you believe material here infringes your rights or should come down, contact us and we will review it promptly.
Disclaimer of warranties
This site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that scores, standings, statistics or stories are complete, current or error-free, or that the site will always be available.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Hometown Hero News is not liable for damages arising from use of this site or reliance on anything published here.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The version posted here is the one that applies.
